DR Assurance Sample Report
View a worked example of the report delivered after a Cygnus DR Assurance Review, including service findings, recovery priorities and recommended actions.
A worked example using a fictional organisation.

This worked example shows the report delivered at the end of a focused Cygnus DR Assurance Review. It uses a fictional organisation so the full document can be shared openly.
What the report covers
For two critical services, the report brings together:
- the overall recovery position and decisions requiring attention;
- the recovery objectives and disruption scenarios reviewed;
- service dependencies and recovery responsibilities;
- what previous tests and technical records demonstrate;
- issues that could delay or prevent recovery; and
- a prioritised action plan with owners and suggested timing.
Senior stakeholders get a concise summary of the recovery position, while infrastructure and service teams retain the detail needed to plan improvements.
How to read the sample
Start with the executive outcome, then follow one service conclusion through to its linked findings and actions. This shows how recovery targets, dependencies, procedures and test results are considered together rather than as separate technical checks.
The report also makes clear where further testing or technical work is needed before a service can be relied upon to recover within its target.
Applying the approach to your environment
Every review is organised around the critical services, recovery scenarios and technical questions that matter to the organisation. Cygnus reviews existing plans, architecture, operational records and previous test results, then presents the findings to both leadership and the teams responsible for recovery.
If a live recovery exercise is needed, it can be planned as a separate piece of work after the review has identified what the exercise should test.
