This website is operated by Cygnus Tech Consulting Ltd, trading as Cygnus Tech, which is the controller for personal information handled through this site. If you have any questions about this page or how your information is handled, please contact connect@cygnustech.co.uk.
What information may be collected
If you use the website enquiry form, contact us by email or use a booking link, we may receive information such as your name, email address, organisation and any details you choose to provide about your enquiry.
How information is used
Information is used to:
- respond to enquiries
- arrange calls or meetings
- assess whether a service request is a suitable fit
- maintain normal business records and correspondence
Lawful bases
Depending on the context, Cygnus relies on legitimate interests to respond to business enquiries, operate and improve the business, maintain appropriate records and protect the site; steps requested before entering into a contract; legal obligations where they apply; and consent for optional website analytics.
Who information may be shared with
Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the website and respond to enquiries, including Cloudflare for website delivery and form security, Resend for delivery of website form enquiries, Microsoft for email and appointment booking, and Google for consented analytics and tag management. LinkedIn and GitHub process information under their own terms if you choose to follow a link to those platforms.
These providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the relevant provider's contractual arrangements and applicable transfer safeguards govern that processing.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses essential website functionality and may, with your consent, use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited, which service links are used, and whether visitors interact with key actions such as contacting Cygnus Tech or opening the booking link. When you use the enquiry form, Cloudflare Turnstile also carries out a security check intended to distinguish people from automated misuse.
Non-essential analytics are not intended to run unless you choose to accept them using the cookie banner. Basic technical logging may still be carried out by the hosting platform for security, performance and service operation.
What analytics may record
With consent, analytics may record information such as:
- page views and basic session activity
- service-page and navigation clicks
- clicks on booking, email and selected outbound links
- when a website enquiry form is started and when the site confirms a successful submission
- basic technical information such as browser, device and approximate location
Form analytics do not include the name, email address, organisation or enquiry text entered into the form.
How to change your cookie choice
You can reopen the cookie settings from the footer of the site at any time and change your analytics preference there. Rejecting analytics stops the analytics tag from loading on the next page load and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies set for this site.
Data retention
Enquiry and correspondence information is retained only for as long as reasonably required for business, administrative or legal purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and receive a portable copy. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. To make a request, please email connect@cygnustech.co.uk.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Automated decisions
Cygnus does not use information collected through this website to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
